What current trends exist in the hospitality industry?
The hospitality industry is expected to experience growth in the near future partially due to the many changes currently being pushed to better satisfy consumers. According to the US Department of Labor, the hospitality industry is expected to grow 18% through 2012, adding more than 1.6 million jobs. There is a movement among some hotels to better understand the consumer and their needs by offering a more personalized experience. In addition, some in the industry are offering guests more free services like high speed Internet and gift certificates for hotel amenities and/or local area restaurants and attractions.
