  Since many professionals in higher education go on to pursue doctoral degrees, a program goal is that learn you learn to think, research, and write with the sophistication of a higher education scholar. Your ideas will become more refined, and your administrative philosophies more enlightened.
  
  You’ll graduate with the practical and academic knowledge and skills it takes to achieve great things in the real world. Currently, there are three degree specializations available: student services, college administration and leadership, and college teaching and learning. The student services specialization includes hands-on training through two internship experiences. This specialization meets the standards of the Council for the Advancement of Standards in Higher Education (CAS) for graduate programs in student affairs and the standards of the Professional Preparation Commission of the American College Personnel Association (ACPA). In any of the specializations, you may elect to complete a thesis as the program’s culminating experience or choose from two additional courses that will enhance your knowledge and practical skills.
